Monterrico Guatemala Weather HOT

Antigua Guatemala Weather Cold

The last week of January has again seen Antigua Guatemala Weather reach below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. The days have remained pleasant in Antigua  consistently in the low to mid 70 degree range and mostly sunny.

Sunday saw Antigua blanketed in dark clouds that looked like rain which never materialized.

Lake Atitlan has been reported to be windy on the lake with a few rain showers over the weekend. Temperatures remain warm with sunny breezy days.

Monterrico Guatemala Weather remains as always in the high 80 degree ranges with as always sunny and clear skies. The weather in Monterrico is pleasant and has offered the sports fishing charters out of all major harbors great fishing conditions.

Guatemala Travel Review will be heading to Monterrico for a few days of warmer weather then Antigua and will be exploring a number of locations along the Guatemala cost line. The planned trip will start in Antigua head to Monterrico and north along the coast line to Port of San Jose Guatemala.

We expect great weather for this trip along the Pacific Coast of Guatemala. Guatemala Travel Review plans to stop and interview as many business owners along this route to expand the travel information available for travelers about Monterrico. Monterrico is only a small part of the The Beaches and the Great Sports Fishing that is part of this region and an important part of the overall Guatemalan Tourism Industry.

Antigua Guatemala Metiz French Delicatessen

Metiz French Delicatessen, located off the main park in Antigua Guatemala, has a little bit of everything for those who have a taste for things French. And who doesn’t?

Yolkobsens regularly have a picnic basket made up, featuring the goodies from this delectable deli and we’ve written before about the magic that comes from a few cheeses, dried sausages, pates and a bit of bread. It’s even better when paired with a fine Bordeaux, which can also be had at this compact but richly stocked emporium.

The Parisian owner of the downtown shop uses many family recipes when he makes, for example, the preserves he has on prominent display next to the deli counter. Here you’ll find lovely antipasto winners in the form of marinated egg plant, house rillettes of pork, and pulled duck and pork.

House brands also include: olive oils, including an intriguing vanilla infused bottle, said by the owner to be good when cooking chicken or fish; and a balsamic vinegar taking advantage a partnership with basil.

Other showstoppers are the cheeses displayed to great effect in the deli cooler that dominates the main floor. Generous with samples, the owner will ply you with Spanish, French, Danish and Guatemalan cheese tastings, all the while telling you where they’re from, how long they’ve aged, and possibly, right down to which side of the mountain the goat took its daily grazings before nobly contributing milk to the chevre cheese of your dreams.

Santa Maria de Jesus Guatemala Market

It is November 19th 2011 we are living in Antigua Guatemala. Each weekend we take a day to trip to a village in the area this trip is to Santa Maria de Jesus. A village to the south of Antigua in the foothills surrounded by one of the three large volcanoes dominate the horizon around Antigua,
Our goal is not to do the normal tourist things and travel as the locals do. By chicken bus. For 5Q each we rose to this lovely village in the height of market time.
